Dear Gareth, One week after the end of our Daniel Lynch sale, I want to let you know how successful the sale has been.

We were all very apprehensive, having never done anything like this before and being a rather old-fashioned store with no shop window.

However, to our amazement, on the first day we had an enormous queue outside, something we have never seen before and a huge number of people through the door.

We achieved our target and a bit more besides, cleared a lot of stock and took in a huge amount of money.

The whole thing has been a good and worthwhile experience and taught us a great deal.

I would especially like to praise Mel, who amazed us all with his incredible hard work, professionalism and good temper. He was fantastic.

We are now trying to cope with an explosion of deliveries!
