Dear Gareth,

Just a quick note to thank you for all your efforts before and during our sale. The numbers proved to be much as we had hoped and the extra stress of actually closing for three days before the sale, long forgotten. Our first day queue was a great sight to behold as it stretched down past all the other retailers’ front doors! I didn’t think it possible to do that well on one day!

Your choice of Mel as a coordinator was certainly inspired. As you know, he was here for several weeks prior to the sale. He managed to empty our stockrooms and re-organise the shop floor. He was an excellent driving force in the store and encouraged everyone to greater heights, and the end result was an excellent sale.

Thank you for all your input, which proved invaluable. Hopefully, we have opened your eyes to the potential in all the department stores for excellent sales figures. Unlike Daniel Lynch, we won’t make that a copyright idea though.
